V4 for Innovation Project Successfully Launched: First International Workshop Held in Košice

A fantastic start to our Visegrad project – the first international workshop in Košice. On 31 March 2026, the first international workshop of the "V4 for Innovation: Knowledge Transfer Cooperation of V4 Countries" project was successfully held in Košice.
As the project's opening professional event, the workshop focused on advancing digital convergence and strengthening collaboration between universities and industry stakeholders. The programme aims to enable technology transfer organisations from the Visegrad countries to jointly develop practical solutions to the region's innovation challenges, with particular emphasis on reducing the digital gap, facilitating the commercialisation of research results, and fostering knowledge-based cooperation.
In line with these objectives, the Košice workshop focused on identifying the barriers, opportunities, and best practices in technology transfer. The programme featured presentations of successful technology transfer case studies, a panel discussion, interactive group work, and networking opportunities. Participants worked together on real-world challenges and developed recommendations to support the improvement of digital skills, strengthen university–industry collaboration, and enhance the efficiency of the regional innovation ecosystem. The workshop marked an important milestone in the project, laying the foundations for future cooperation, the collection of best practices, and the development of policy recommendations, while also promoting knowledge exchange among partners and participants.
The project's upcoming events will focus on the commercialisation of research results, support for spin-offs, talent retention, and further strengthening academic–industry collaboration across the V4 region.
The project is implemented with the support of the International Visegrad Fund under the "Visegrad Focus on Research, Development, Innovation and Digitalization" grant programme.
