Would you like to test yourself in a real pitch competition in front of a professional jury?
The Student Startup Hackathon 2026 is a full-day, experience-driven idea competition for university students, where—with the support of mentors—you can develop scalable solutions to real-world problems, and present them to a panel of expert judges.

This is not a coding hackathon—it’s an idea competition built on startup thinking.

What is hackathon about?

Teams will work on finding solutions to real-world problems in the following areas:
  • University life and student services
  • Sustainability and urban challenges
  • Labor market and career entry
  • Health and mental well-being
  • Digital solutions for everyday problems
Mentors will help you to:
  • clearly define the problem,
  • come up with a solution,
  • build your pitch presentation.

The Mentors

Bulcsu Gödri

the Head of Business Development at SZTE TTC with extensive experience in technology transfer, innovation collaborations, and international R&D partnerships. In his work, he places particular emphasis on the practical application of results, building partnerships, and providing strategic support to developing projects. As a mentor and professional advisor, his goal is to use his expertise and network to support domestic innovation initiatives.

Attila Balla

an economist and communications expert with over 15 years of extensive experience as a leader and consultant in innovation- and technology-focused fields. He has participated in numerous government, municipal, and market innovation projects, particularly in the areas of digital development, regional development, and policy programs.

György Mudri

a fintech entrepreneur, co-founder and CEO of FintechX, where he develops innovative financial solutions based on open banking. He has over a decade of experience in the digital financial sector, both as a startup founder and business executive. His expertise spans product development, business building, and creating scalable fintech solutions, having successfully guided his company through multiple pivots and growth phases. Previously, he spent more than 15 years teaching entrepreneurship and finance as the head of a foundation program and as a visiting lecturer at Corvinus University of Budapest. As a mentor, he primarily helps teams turn an idea into a real market solution and make it commercially viable.

Szabolcs Mike

an engineer-physicist specializing in the practical application of AI and digital technologies. He currently works as an AI consultant and has previously contributed as an expert to various technology and innovation initiatives. As a mentor, he primarily helps teams think in terms of technological solutions for real-world problems and guides ideas toward practical, implementable directions, especially in AI- and digitally-focused projects

Levente Vámos

the founder of Vamos AI, building a B2B SaaS solution focused on social media and AI-driven content creation. Drawing on his previous agency experience, he is developing a platform that automates and optimizes short-form content production, helping businesses and content creators achieve scalable growth. As a mentor, he primarily helps teams transform an idea into a well-positioned product and quickly validate and scale it in the market.

Márton Lipcsey

is a member of the Vamos AI development team, working on the platform’s technological implementation. His experience in digital product development and AI-based systems helps teams turn their ideas into functional solutions. As a mentor, he primarily supports technological thinking, feasibility assessment, and shaping product logic.

Dávid Fekete

works as a frontend developer on the Vamos AI product, focusing on user experience and the practical implementation of digital solutions. As a mentor, he helps teams transform an idea into a user-friendly, understandable, and functional solution from the perspective of end-users.

Speakers

As part of the hackathon, participants are invited to an inspiring preparatory lecture series, where experienced professionals provide insights into the world of startups. This practical, interactive event will cover topics such as idea validation, creating a value proposition, and the fundamentals of a compelling pitch—all illustrated with real-world examples.
Krisztián Mátyás

co-founder of Appartman, where he works on developing property management software (PMS) for accommodations. His work focuses on the digitalization of the tourism sector and the development of scalable software products. His experience includes developing, validating, and bringing early-stage products to market, with a strong emphasis on aligning user needs with business operations.

Szabolcs Szota

an AI and digital innovation specialist, currently working on practical AI applications for businesses as part of the “AI in Everyday Life” initiative. Previously, he built a company in the insurtech sector, serving as founder and leader of CRISTO, developing digital insurance solutions. His current professional focus is on integrating artificial intelligence into real business processes in a simple, usable way that delivers tangible results.

Bence Zwecker

Zwecker Bence a Munch a member of the founding team, working on a fast-growing, sustainability-focused digital platform aimed at reducing food waste. Their work focuses on communicating products and services clearly and effectively. Their expertise lies in structuring presentations and conveying business messages in a clear, organized manner.
