From Research to Business
On May 29, the second event of the NKFI Office’s 10th-anniversary conference series was held at the Museum of Ethnography. The event brought together researchers, university professionals, business representatives, and government decision-makers to discuss the latest issues in bringing research results to market and technological innovation.
Ms. Réka Barabás (National Innovation Agency) and Gábor Dósa (Uni Inno Zrt.) presented the role of technology transfer companies (TTCs/ TTOs), emphasizing the importance of a market-oriented approach. In Hungary, 16 universities have already launched similar TTC projects that facilitate the transformation of research outcomes into marketable products and services.

The closing roundtable discussion, which included András Ujhegyi, CEO of SZTE TTC Zrt., highlighted that business exploitation should be integrated into researchers’ strategic planning, while basic research continues to serve as the foundation for technological development.
The event reaffirmed that the market utilization of research and innovation is crucial for Hungary’s scientific and economic progress.
